The main aim is, of course, to make the model look as realistic as possible, with all the signs of use and weathering that the real vehicles, aeroplanes etc. also show. Modern vehicles represent a great opportunity for the model builder, as a sufficient number of good quality colour photos and other illustrations are available for reference. The knowledge and techniques presented here can easily be integrated into any other era or modelling area.
