Description
The Battle of Leipzig, with about 500,000 soldiers involved, was the largest military conflict of the Napoleonic Wars. Based on the latest findings on the Battle of the Nations, the "Zinnfigurenfreunde Leipzig e. V." has completely reworked the large diorama on the battle, which dates from 1953. The book accompanying the diorama describes in detail the history of the diorama, from the first one built between 1910 and 1913, to the one built in 1953, to the diorama of today, using historical text and picture material as well as the original documents for the new construction. In addition, the individual steps in the construction of the new diorama and a historical outline of the battle, without national vanities, are provided.
