The first in a series of encyclopaedic volumes dedicated to the organisation, deployment and organisation of the ordinary legions of the "Milizia Volontaria di Sicurezza Nazionale" (M.V.S.N.) and the battalions of the CC.NN. throughout the Italian peninsula from 1923 until the armistice of 8 September 1943. This first volume examines the history, organisation, insignia and postcards of the legions and battalions in the historical period between 1923 and 1943. The volume (two more are already in preparation) is a resource that is certainly useful for collectors, but also for historians who want to delve into the subject of the M. V.S.N. without using dozens of different texts. V.S.N., which not only operated with numerous units on national territory, but was also present on all the war fronts of the Second World War on which the Italian army was deployed, including the colonies.
