Description
Chronology of awards by date of endowment. There were numerous awards, orders and decorations in the Wehrmacht between 1935 and 1945. The almost unmanageable abundance and the different designs make this collecting field extremely interesting. The order of the awards is strictly chronological according to the date of endowment. This also results in a popular scientific assessment of the war: Which awards were currently important and which ones had to be upgraded? In addition to a general overview of all important German awards, this volume therefore provides a more in-depth historical overview of the war.
What distinguishes the summary "Awards of the Wehrmacht from 1935 to 1945" from the three-volume type compass series "German Awards"?
The almost 50-page appendix of the summary is partly responsible for the different quality of the book and, of course, the complete presentation of all awards for the Wehrmacht sections Army, Air Force and Navy. For each award this results in one book page, for a few it will be two pages. Completely new in the Typenkompass series is the appendix with about 50 pages (see table of contents).
The order of the awards is strictly chronological by date of foundation. This results in a popular scientific assessment of the war. Which awards were currently important and which needed to be upgraded. Priorities of Wehrmacht sections, weapon branches, theatres of war, etc. ln the introduction, this approach is explained, since the relevant literature tends to summarise the types of awards. With this chronology of awards, he also buys a special reading book on the events of the war.
The book offers the advantage of the general overview with a more in-depth historical overview of the events of the war. Each chapter begins on two pages with a chronological orientation (see table of contents) In the type compass of the individual Wehrmacht parts, the awards are each presented more extensively than in the summary of the book. Thus the backs of the awards and a variety of other details such as certificates or packaging and more comprehensive tables are present there.
Features Book
Each award gets:
1. brief type diagram with historical data
2. historically explanatory text (about 500 characters per page)
3. coloured front illustration
4. coloured illustration of a selected certificate of ownership.
