Of the stars of the Battle of Britain, the Hawker Hurricane was the one that often stayed in the shadows. And while the Supermarine Spitfire was sent up to match the German figthers, most of the time the Hurricane took on the bombers and dive bombers. The Hurricane represented a revolution in the RAF, being a fast monoplane equipped with a powerful engine. While much of its structure is metal, there was still a lot of wood and fabric used in the construction of it, much like it predecessors. In the book, we bring the Hurricane centre stage and we try to capture the Hurricane both in action and in detail. In over 250 photographs.
