Developed as a joint project between Great Britain and France, the Sepecat "Jaguar" was originally intended as a jet trainer aircraft, but quickly developed into a supersonic attack aircraft with close air support, reconnaissance and tactical nuclear strike capabilities. After entering service in the 1970s, it flew almost continuous missions for the RAF between 1990 and 2003, including numerous combat missions in the first Gulf War (1991) and the Bosnian War, as well as reconnaissance flights over northern Iraq and the Balkans. In this volume, former RAF pilot Michael Napier expertly describes the eventful career of the "Jaguar" and the remarkable experiences of those who flew it on combat missions. Supplemented by 24 aircraft profiles showing the variety of colours worn and weapons used by the "Jaguar", a combination of detailed research, first-hand accounts and both official and personal photographs bring to life the activities of an aircraft that was a mainstay of the RAF attack force for more than a decade.
