Facts and background on the Nazi arms industry and forced labour in rural Swabia. How close human suffering and technical progress can be can be seen at the end of the Second World War in the relocation of the Nazi armaments industry to rural areas of Swabia. In order to be able to continue producing the first jet aircraft, the Me 262, which was stylised as a wonder weapon, at the end of the war, Messerschmitt A. G.'s Kuno I forest plant was built in Scheppach Forest for the final assembly of the Me 262.

The labour force here consisted mainly of Jewish concentration camp prisoners, for whom a Dachau subcamp was set up in the small town of Burgau. The book deals with the circumstances of the relocation of Messerschmitt A. G. to Burgau, the construction of the Kuno I forest factory and the living conditions of the more than 1000 Jews in the Burgau subcamp.
