On 1 March 1945, the world's first manned rocket took off from Stetten a.k.M.: the revolutionary Bachem Ba-349 Natter. It was the first to use booster rockets for launch assistance, could be steered using manually operated jet rudders, and had a guidance system for approaching bomber formations. Its armament also included rockets that were fired from the nose of the fuselage. In this documentary, Horst Lommel presents facts and rare photos; contemporary witnesses describe the dramatic events surrounding the testing of the Natter, which also pioneered manned space flight.
