This work is truly special: it was penned by the Royal Navy's chief aviator, Eric Brown. Shortly after the end of the war, he flew and evaluated 55 different German aircraft that had fallen into the hands of the Royal Air Force as looted aircraft. In addition, Brown had excellent contacts to well-known German designers, such as Willy Messerschmitt, Ernst Heinkel or Kurt Tank. This gave him access to extensive background material and the result was a unique book in which the history of the development, the special characteristics and the technology of the most famous German aircraft of the Second World War are written down - including special models such as the Do 335, the Me 262 or the Ta 152. Brown's descriptions, numerous photos and especially informative cutaway drawings make the book an interesting title for anyone dealing with German aircraft of World War II.
