The A-10 Thunderbolt II is an absolutely exceptional aircraft and unique in the world in this form. It was originally designed for use on the European battlefield. Its main weapon, the monstrous seven-barrelled revolver cannon, calibre 30 mm, fires an incredible 65 rounds per second. No wonder the A-10 is considered a tank buster and was built for precisely this role. The aircraft is still in service today because there is simply nothing that can hold a candle to the A-10. Steve Davies describes the entire history of the Warthog, from its development and technology to its deployment.
