Many people know the book by Borghese about the history of the Decima Flottiglia Mas up to 8 September 1943, which was published by Garzanti in 1952 and by Storia Militare in the early 2000s. The present volume, on the other hand, refers to the period of the Italian Social Republic. It was written by Borghese himself and deals in particular with the vicissitudes of the Lupo and Barbararigo battalions, as well as with the civil war in general.
