The two volumes of the book are a new edition of the work, which was still published in one volume in the first edition, greatly expanded in terms of pictures and text.
Please note: Part 1, while having the same cover image as the first edition, looks completely different in content from the first edition....
Dr Hermann Türk took part in the attack on the Soviet Union from 22 June 1941 as a medical officer as part of the 3rd Panzer Division. He recorded the advance and the hard fighting up to the gates of Moscow in December 1941 in a diary and in a large number of colour slides. 252 of these colour and 266 of his bw photographs, together with the impressive diary entries and extensive battle information and maps, have been compiled into a unique work.
