As the first mass-produced jet fighter, the Messerschmitt Me 262 is one of the pioneering designs in aircraft construction. Developed towards the end of the Second World War, the fighter-bomber was indispensable to the Luftwaffe. However, due to massive bombing by the Allies, production had to be relocated to underground tunnels and forests. Rich in detail, with contemporary and partly unpublished photos, sketches and plans, this volume describes the relocation to the secret production sites. This was only possible through the use of forced labourers - a chapter that is not omitted by the author.
