This book details the experiences of the Bulgarian and Slovakian men who became aces supporting the World War 2 efforts of the Luftwaffe. Slovakian pilots fought in obsolete Avia B-534s from 1939 until October 1942, when they were equipped with Bf 109Es. Slovakia eventually acquired 43 Messerschmitts, and in the course of the war scored over 215 kills. Bulgaria, meanwhile, never declared war on Russia but Bulgarian pilots flew Bf 109Gs against the American bombers threatening their country from August 1943 to mid-1944, during which period two Bulgarian aces were created.
