The first complete history of the Fascist International in German. The dream of a new world order seemed within reach for over a decade. From the Manchurian Incident in 1931 to the summer of 1942, the Axis, the alliance between Hitler, Mussolini and Imperial Japan, dominated large parts of the world. And yet within a few years the Axis failed miserably: not only militarily, but also morally.
The first complete history of the fascist Axis in German. Another global history of the 1930s and 1940s, incorporating archival material from all three countries. A disturbingly topical history of international radicalisation. True, the dream of a fascist world order ultimately lasted only a short time - but it was a shared, common dream that had matured over a long time and across continents. The internal political radicalisation of the Axis powers and their outward expansionism by no means took place in closed national biotopes. The common world view of the three powers also emerged through international interactions in social and cultural policy. The three regimes radicalised each other and ultimately developed international explosive power through their imperialist warfare. Daniel Hedinger thus shows us how fascism was already a global phenomenon in the interwar period.
