Descriptionof Dunkerque 1940. Operation Dynamo. 350000 soldats britanniques et francaise évacués vers l'Angleterre

Manufacturer
Four years before the Allied landing in Normandy, the French coast was the scene of another major episode of the Second World War. This is Operation Dynamo, much less well known than D-Day. Between 27 May and June 4, nearly 350,000 British and French soldiers were evacuated from the Dunkirk pocket by a heterogeneous fleet of 850 boats. Nearly 80 years later, Jean-Charles Stasi, author of several successful books published by Heimdal publishes this major history of one of the most pivotal actions of WWII in a book illustrated with numerous photographs in black and white and color, as well as maps, computer graphics, aircraft profiles and boats.
Detailed description of the background and course of the evacuation operation and a comprehensive presentation of the uniforms, equipment, weapons and other war material of the soldiers trapped in Dunkirk and evacuated from there. The 96 fully illustrated pages contain colour photos of the soldiers' equipment as well as colour profiles of aircraft, contemporary b/w photos, maps and uniform charts. A separate chapter presents two feature films on Operation "Dynamo", a French film by director Verneuil and a British film by Christopher Nolan, soon to be released in cinemas.
