»Stutterheims inspection-works. Spotlights on the rebuilding of the East Prussian infantry, 17631783«: This documentation is based on 175 cabinet orders that King Frederick II. issued to Joachim Friedrich von Stutterheim, Inspector General of the East Prussian Infantry between 1763 and 1783. The cabinet orders address the army's inspection system, which was newly established by the Roy Connétable after the Seven Years' War. The aim was to find out whether the shift in authority brought about by this system actually succeeded in a brisk rebuilding of the regiments which had suffered great losses during the long war period.
