This is precisely what Captain de Juzancourt has set out to do for this corps, which no longer exists today, by tracing the most important events in its history, from the first issue of rifled guns by Louis XIV to some of his bodyguards to the dismissal of the carabiniers of Napoleon III's Imperial Guard after the Battle of Gravelotte.
