Description
The volume on the Parachute Rifle 42 documents the development of a special weapon for the paratroopers. Although the armaments industry was already operating at the limit of its capabilities, arming a relatively small elite unit became a "matter for the boss" and Göring pushed the development and production of a fully automatic special weapon past the Army Weapons Office.
Here you can read how the development proceeded, which problems had to be overcome until the production was ready for series production and how the prototypes differed from the weapons of the pre-series, the 1st series production, the intermediate model and the 2nd series production.
Furthermore, the book provides information about the numbers of units produced, the manufacturing plants and how the respective weapons were marked.
The technical section is, as always, supplemented by a photo section with large-format and sometimes spectacular PK photos.
