Description
The current special issue picks up where Special 20 "Magnum Short Rifles" left off. The focus is on practice, on reloading and on learning the correct breech-loading and shooting techniques. In addition, the magazine deals with the latest state of the art - the example of handguns: In recent years, a number of calibres and weapons have been added, above all the Smith & Wesson types .460 and .500 Magnum; and the first revolver ammunition with a belt-fed case, the .500 Wyoming Express cartridge, comes from the US company Freedom Arms. Sights Special No. 47 also offers some interesting information on handguns designed for rifle cartridges. From there we move on to rifles for magnum cartridges, such as those used for long range shooting. Besides the new Short Magnums, we also take a closer look at the .338 Lapua Magnum. But what would such a magazine be without the flair of big game hunting - from the Mauser Magnum system to the various take downs to the classic "Side by Side", the range extends from the "bread and butter calibres" .375 Holland & Holland Magnum as well as .458 Winchester Magnum to the Nitro Express cartridges. All of them, regardless of whether they are short or long guns, have two things in common: they don't give any strokes to the rear, but they do bring a lot of energy to the target. (Note: the .357 Magnum calibre is not included in this issue; it has already been covered in other Specials, such as No. 7 "Revolvers in .38 and .357 Magnum").
