The history of the German Air Forces (Luftwaffe-Heeresflieger-Marineflieger) has hardly been treated in summary form in its entirety since its formation in 1956. This series aims to present the history and development of these separate branches of the German armed forces.

The main topic of this issue is the history of the Lehr- und Versuchsschwarm G. 91 der Waffenschule 50. Another extensive topic is the use of the Douglas DC 6 as the first long-range aircraft of the Flugbereitschaft.
