Author Robert Holcomb was born on the grounds of the US Military Academy at West Point, graduated from the academy and served in the US Army for 20 years. His parents are buried in West Point Cemetery, and at his father's funeral he was inspired by the great beauty and tranquility of the place. Hundreds of original photographs accompany a tour of the cemetery, including the Old Cadet Chapel and Caretakers Cottage. However, this is not just a guide to the grounds, but also an extremely readable and informative historical work.
