This is the 26th edition of an annual publication. The book is current as of the end of March 2026; at that time, 18,562 aircraft were recorded as active in the British aircraft register.
Each year, the compilers strive to improve and expand the information they provide to their readers. In 2025, they added Manufacturer Serial Numbers (MSNs) for all civil-registered aircraft; for the 2026 edition, they have introduced a diamond symbol to mark new entries added since the previous edition. The contents include: the civil aircraft registers for the United Kingdom (G-), the Republic of Ireland (EI-), the Isle of Man (M-), and Guernsey (2-); a list of foreign aircraft based in the United Kingdom and Ireland; lists of military aircraft operated within the United Kingdom and Ireland, as well as United States Air Force units stationed in the United Kingdom; a cross-reference index for aircraft registrations held under exemption permits; a concise directory of aircraft preserved in aviation museums and collections; and a general guide to identifying the probable locations where aircraft are based.
