Manufacturer
In Volume 1, the land forces' flak missile systems (KRUG, KUB and OSA-AK) and the air forces' flak missile systems (DWINA, WOLCHOW, NEWA, WEGA, ANGARA) are presented. For the effective use of these anti-aircraft missile systems, radio measuring stations, command systems and complexes as well as security technology were also necessary, which are also dealt with in this book. The whereabouts of the missile systems and an outlook on the planned introduction of the most modern technology round off the book. With over 600 photographs, the pictorial presentation is brought to the fore in addition to the textual description.
An anti-aircraft missile system is the totality of interconnected armament and technology necessary for the destruction of aerial targets. Essential components are a command and control element, one or
several anti-aircraft missile complexes, means of combat security and a technical company/department. The following rule applies: The more complicated the target engagement, the more complex the anti-aircraft missile system. The main component of an anti-aircraft missile system is the anti-aircraft missile complex with the inventory of equipment that is functionally linked during combat operations and necessary for firing missiles at an aerial target.
