Beschreibung

Raised since childhood by the Romans and then enlisted in the auxiliary forces, Arminius the Cherusci, became leader of the German tribes and planned the famous ambush in the forest of Teutoburg, also known as Battle of the Forests of Teutoburg or Disaster of Varus. After this confrontation and the destruction of the 17th, 18th and 19th legions, whose eagles passed into the hands of the Germans, the idea that the Roman border should not be beyond the Rhine reached deep into the Empire. A few years later Julius Caesar Germanicus and a powerful army of 8 legions returned on the steps of Varus and his legions and defeated Arminius in the battle of Idistaviso, but Rome never went beyond that border that blood and fire defended the brave Germans. Arminio, Arminius or Harminn, is considered the first great German national hero. Our figure is intended to pay tribute to this brave leader.
