As was the case with the 2A7, the comprehensive modifications to the 2A7V - which primarily affect the areas of protection, mobility, controllability, endurance and firepower - consist of both performance-enhancing measures and complementary ones.
This publication shows the Leopard main battle tank in its most modern combat upgrade configuration 2A7V for the very first time in service and in great technical detail.

The Soviet Tank that Paved the Road to Victory
Prototypes - Pre-Series - KV-1 - KV-2
And the German KW I/KW II Beutepanzer Captured Tanks

Previously, the Soviet KV (Kliment "Klim" Voroshilov) series of heavy tanks was described in many Western sources as being a slow and cumbersome sidekick to the T-34, and that it had only limited influence on combat during Operation Barbarossa, the German invasion of the Soviet Union in 1941. However, based on the most recent research, such a view can no longer be considered feasible today. Over recent years, the author has undertaken a completely updated and unbiased assessment of the KV and its true role on the battlefields of the Eastern Front. Analysing new findings, it can now be claimed with certainty that the KVs legacy has been severely underestimated. Consequently, this book is the authors fully updated and completely fresh take on a legendary Soviet tank design that came as a total surprise to its enemies, which slowed down the German advance under the most adverse circumstances and to such a degree that it laid the foundation for Soviet victory four years later.
The author goes as far as to say that the KVs role on the Eastern Front of 1941 had, in many respects, similar tactical and emotive impacts on the enemy as the German Tiger tank did on the Western Allies in Normandy in 1944.

This comprehensive publication provides fully updated research on the KV family of tanks, development of its prototypes and pre-series vehicles, the series production batches and its deployment in combat, as well as correcting previously published mistakes. Many new findings are illustrated in astonishing hitherto unknown detail and include new variants that are shown for the very first time. An additional and extensive chapter also rewrites the story of KV tanks serving in the German Wehrmacht as KW Beutepanzers.

Limited Edition: 999 copies

The development picked up speed from 1908 when the first comparative trial runs were held to find suitable subsidy truck models for the role of Armeelastzug (truck-trailer combination). After war had broken out, the solo truck took over this role of supplying the Kaiser's troops on all frontlines.
This publication tells, for the first time ever, the story of how the Lastkraftwagen (cargo truck) became the backbone of German military supply operations in World War One.

The creation and organisation of the Kraftfahrtruppe (Army Motor Transport Corps) is extensively portrayed in text, followed by richly illustrated chapters on the trucks of individual manufacturers. These include major players such as Benz, Daimler and Opel; truck-building legends such as Büssing, Horch, Mannesmann-Mulag and Stoewer - names that today have all faded into history; and also enigmatic makes such as Ageka, Komnick and Windhoff, to name just a few. Additional chapters on wartime service, as well as uniforms, complete the survey of this early era of German military motoring in hitherto unseen completeness.

This publication covers the introduction and the many technical improvements of the new 2A7-variant of the Leopard family in great detail. It is the updated and enlarged version of the previous Special 5058 and now for the first time includes all upgrades and modernisation measures carried out on the 2A7 between 2016 and 2019. With this work the gap that existed in available documentations between the first Leopard 2A7 and the new Leopard 2A7V is now closed on sixteen additional pages.

Missions of the different corps focused on possible main points of entry that might be used by well-equipped tank armies of the Warsaw Pact: I. (GE) Corps was responsible for the north German plain, III. (GE) Corps for the Fulda Gap and II. (GE) Corps for the low and high mountain ranges of southern Germany. In the 1970s, in turn each of the German corps conducted a Heeresübung full-force field training exercise (FTX) with participating Allied units from the US, UK, Canada and the Netherlands. This is the story of three of these major FTXs and the military vehicles involved.

This publication provides a detailed description in words and pictures of the three full-scale army exercises "Großer Bär 76", "Standhafte Chatten 77" and "Blaue Donau 78", including the Bundeswehr vehicle fleet and the participating Allied units.

In addition to the Soviet Union, United Kingdom and France, the American troops took over the administration of a sector of the city. In the following years Berlin would see historic events such as the Allied Airlift and the construction of the intra-German border, the "Wall". The U.S. Army, at first with the Berlin Military Post, then with the Berlin Command and finally with the Berlin Brigade, provided core support in defending the city against Soviet agitation, last but not least by providing a continued deterrent most visible by the presence of tanks. This publication shows, with many hitherto unpublished photos, the vehicles used by the U.S. forces in Berlin from 1950-1994 - predominantly the tanks that kept the permanent Soviet threat at bay.

The U.S. Army, first with the "Berlin Military Post", then the "Berlin Command" and later with the "Berlin Brigade", provided the city with a valuable service to preserve freedom from 1945 until its dissolution in 1994, not least through the permanent presence of battle tanks. This publication contains numerous previously unpublished photos of the vehicles used by the US armed forces, primarily the battle tanks, which served as a symbol of deterrence against possible Soviet intervention from 1950-1994.

Its structure and equipment enables it to conduct long-range attacks, or fast and powerful attacks with a closer target. In addition, the Panzertruppe serves to conduct and support national and alliance defence measures, as well as international conflict prevention and crisis management. The main task of main battle tanks of the Panzertruppe is to fight against enemy tank formations in open terrain.

Today, as in the early days of the Bundeswehr, the Panzertruppe is the backbone of mechanised forces of the Bundeswehr. Its main weapon system today is the Leopard 2 main battle tank and it also fields an impressive range of wheeled and tracked support vehicles. This publication offers, for the first time ever, a comprehensive visual overview on the various state-of-the-art vehicles used by the Panzertruppe today, from motorcycle to main battle tank, illustrates the organisation of a German armour battalion and tells the story of the Bundeswehr's armour battalions active today.

As a fully digitized combat vehicle, it also forms the basis of the "Armoured Infantry Soldier" and is capable of seamlessly integrating the expanded "Infantryman of the Future" system. The Puma's new weapon systems, such as the MELLS anti-tank guided missile, not only enable more firepower, but also allow unrestricted day and night operations, on the move and with greater range. In many respects, the American designs did no longer correspond with German tactical ideas and operational requirements for the Central European theatre of operations. Thus, starting from scratch again, West Germany began new tank construction. As early as November 1956, the army's joint staff had already formulated its requirements for the first German tank design, "Kampfpanzer Standard" or standardised concept tank, since World War Two.

Finally, on 9th September 1965, the first German post-war tank design, the series-produced and aptly named Leopard main battle tank was handed over to the Panzertruppe.
This publication shows, with impressive action photos, the Leopard 1s of the Bundeswehr in NATO exercises during the Cold War, among them for example Schneller Wechsel 74, Nassauer Löwe 76, Standhafte Chatten 77, Wehrhafte Löwen 83, Sichere Festung 84, Schwerer Dampfhammer 86 plus REFORGER exercises and more.

For this purpose, a new type of troop formation was created that did not exist before, namely the so-called Medium Force. This was to close the capability gap between light infantry units and heavy tank brigades.
For the first time this publication grants an overview over all Stryker variants, from its ICV basic model up to the most recent additions to the family.

M1126 Stryker Infantry Carrier Vehicle (ICV)
M1126 Stryker Infantry Carrier Vehicle Javelin (ICV-J)
M1126 Stryker Infantry Carrier Vehicle Scout (ICV-S)
M1126 Stryker Electronic Warfare (TEWS)
M1126 Stryker Electronic Warfare (WIN-T)
M1126 Stryker High-Energy Laser (MEHEL)
M1127 Stryker Reconnaissance Vehicle (RV)
M1127 Stryker Opposing Force Surrogate Vehicle (OSWV)
M1128 Stryker Mobile Gun System (MGS)
M1129B Stryker Mortar Carrier B (MC-B)
M1130 Stryker Command Vehicle (CV)
M1131 Stryker Fire Support Vehicle (FSV)
M1132 Stryker Engineer Squad Vehicle (ESV)
M1132 Stryker Command Vehicle (CV)
M1133 Stryker Medical Evacuation Vehicle (MEV)
M1134 Stryker Anti-Tank Guided Missile (ATGM)
M1135 Stryker NBC Reconnaissance Vehicle (NBCRV)
M1296 Stryker Infantry Carrier Vehicle Dragoon (ICV-D)
Stryker A1 Short-Range Air Defense (IM-SHORAD)

A whole series of self-propelled howitzers were developed to meet this requirement, but none of them were air-portable due to their weight. This led to a growing demand for a family of field guns and field howitzers that could be deployed as self-propelled guns in a transport aircraft. This was the birth of the M107 (175-mm field gun) and M110 (203-mm field howitzer) self-propelled artillery mounts. While the M107 remained a single production batch, the M110 was first upgraded to the M110A1 and later to the impressive M110A2 and introduced worldwide. This publication describes the development history of the US versions of the M107/M110 family, their use and their technology in detail. However, the focus is on the M107/M110 variants in active service with the Bundeswehr, including the "Germanisation", i.e. the assemblies modified by the Germans.

The aim was to make even heavy artillery more mobile. Numerous German manufacturers responded to the call, and they supplied products for these trials. Based on evaluation findings, key data relating to a militarily usable artillery tractor began to be defined, which led to new and improved designs from 1916 onwards.

This publication is the first monograph on the subject, and it presents in detail the history of these impressive motor vehicles with benzol engines in numerous photos. The vehicle types covered include the manufacturers Büssing, Dürkopp, Lanz, Podeus, Pöhl, Daimler, Benz, Standard-Motorpflug (Arator), Fürstlich Stolberg'sches Hüttenamt (Ilsenburg), Kaelble, Horch, Sendling, Hanomag, Stock and Ehrhardt. An additional chapter covers the artillery load distribution trailer, the Lastenverteilergerät System Bräuer.

The Soltau-Lüneburg Training Area (SLTA) was born. More than 30 years later the last exercise in the area of the SLTA was conducted in May 1994. On 8th June 1994, the Union Jack was taken down for good in front of the headquarters on the grounds of Camp Reinsehlen.

This publication, for the first time, allows to take a closer look at the SLTA in Northern Germany and in particular its British military vehicles (from Landy to Rhino) training there. During the Cold War the SLTA was unique in Central Europe, and this publication allows to embark on a journey through time to visualize a vital part of the history of the BAOR (British Army of the Rhine).

The Panzerhaubitze (armoured self-propelled howitzer) is the backbone of the modern German Army's Corps of Artillery from its creation in 1956 up till today. In the 1950s and 1960s the German Artillery was dominated by Panzerhaubitzen of U.S. origin: The M7, M44, M52, M55 and finally, from 1964, by the M109. From 1998 the German-made Panzerhaubitze 2000 was fielded. This publication shows the armoured self-propelled howitzers from the M7 to the Panzerhaubitze 2000 with many hitherto unpublished photographs, excerpts from technical manuals and comprehensive written documentation.

The high point of this development was reached in 1998 with the introduction of the German-made Panzerhaubitze 2000, which is still in service today. This publication documents all these systems in the text, with excerpts from the German Ordinance on Armoured Personnel (Truppendienstvorschrift, TDv), with breakdowns and in numerous operational photos.

The major aim was, on the one hand, to improve the yield of devices and thus increase their destructive levels, and on the other hand to make them deployable from other launching apparatus. First and foremost, designers on both sides worked on shrinking nuclear devices to the degree they would fit for example into an artillery shell. The development would in 1951 culminate in the American 280mm M65 Gun, today known by its nickname Atomic Annie. In the Soviet Union, work began on the 406mm 2A3 and 420mm 2B1 super-heavy artillery pieces, built in 1957. This publication covers the Atomic Annie in great detail with many in-service photos plus excerpts from the technical manual and also sheds new light on its still secret Soviet counterparts.

The Soviet Union began work on the 406 mm 2A3 and 420 mm 2B1 super-heavy artillery self-propelled guns, which were built in 1957. Never before had the attributes of mobility, speed, protection and firepower been combined so perfectly in one type of vehicle. Being constantly upgraded, they are still capable of performing their tasks under the current military mission range, despite the fact that they have been in service for half a century already.

In the coming decade the British military will successively replace the CVR(T)s. Despite this, the story of this vehicle family is far from over. Latvia decided to procure CVR(T)s from British surplus stocks - as a result, the type will be part of the fleet of NATO combat vehicles for years to come.
This double volume publication, lavishly illustrated with no less than 260 colour and black&white photos plus graphics on a total of 128 pages describes the development history and technology, yet first and foremost the use of the many CVR(T) family vehicles on exercise. Volume One (order number 5033/9033)) covers the Scorpion, Scimitar and Sabre reconnaissance vehicles while Volume Two (order number 5033/9034) deals with the variants such as the Striker, Spartan, Samaritan, Sultan, Samson, Stormer and Shielder.
