Alginate (blue)
An alginate for removing the impression.
Possible mixing ratios in weight proportions:
2 parts water, 1 part alginate for a firm impression compound
3 parts water, 1 part alginate for a medium consistency

Water temperature:
Use water (approx. 12 degrees Celsius) and, if possible, distilled water.
A higher water temperature shortens the processing time.

Mixing sequence:
For an optimum mixture, add the water to the alginate. When doing so, make sure that no powder nests form, which can later have an unfavourable effect as lumps.

Mixing
Mix the components carefully for approx. 30-40 seconds until a homogeneous consistency is achieved.
Process a small test quantity in advance to familiarise yourself with the material.

Application:
Apply the alginate to the object or body part that is to be moulded. The material is fully cured after about 3-5 minutes from the start of mixing at 23 degrees room temperature. Depending on the selected mixing ratio, a jelly- to pudding-like consistency results after hardening, with a firm consistency comparable to a sliceable sausage e.g. Mortadella.
Please note the short processing time if you want to process larger quantities at once.

Notes
The alginate mould can be strengthened and supported by applying plaster bandages.
The finished mould contains a high water content, shrinks due to evaporation of the moisture it contains and should be poured out quickly, i.e. max. 2-3 hours after setting.

Petrolrum jelly = Vaseline.

TFC release petroleum jelly serves as a release agent in the production of multi-part silicone molds, separating silicone from silicone and silicone rubber from other materials and surfaces when molding original models.

Release vaseline is thinly applied to the already hardened first half of the silicone mold and the newly mixed silicone is poured onto it for the second half of the mold.
This prevents the two mold halves from sticking together.

Separating petroleum jelly is also ideally suited to protect the original model when taking an impression with silicone rubber, to allow the finished cast to be easily removed from the mold and to avoid damage, e.g. Adhesion and detachment of an existing color application in the original model.

Silcoflex-HE is a highly tear-resistant RTV silicone impression material (RTV: cross-linking at room temperature). It is particularly suitable for moulding complicated figures with extreme undercuts and is also heat-resistant like Silcotin-HB. It is used in mould making wherever, instead of a two-part or multi-part mould, a one-part elastic, tear-resistant mould makes casting easier and increases cost-effectiveness.
