Standard colours of ANR aircraft from 1943 till 1945.

The Aeronautica Nazionale Repubblicana (ANR) was the air force of the Italian Social Republic (the Republic of Salò) that existed from start of German occupation of Italy in 09/1943 until the end of WW2. It operated aircraft both of Italian (including Macchi M.C.205 Veltro and Fiat G.55 Centauro) and German origin. Whereas the German types mostly wore the standard Luftwaffe camouflage, the Italian originated planes started operations in original Italian schemes with NC4 and VOS2 on upper surfaces, with lower parts in GAC1. Later many Italian originated planes were repainted into Luftwaffe RLM 74+75/76 scheme or even a unique mixture of Italian and German colours.

The Sukhoi Su-27 Flanker is a twin-engine multirole fighter (S version) / pure fighter-interceptor aircraft (P version). First prototype of T10-1 (Sukhoi internal designation) flew in May 1977. The production Su-27S Flanker-B began to enter Soviet AF service in 1985, while the twin-seater Su-27UB (Flanker-C) appeared only in 1987. Due to manufacturing optimisation reasons production of single and twin seaters was separated and conducted by two remote factories (hence two lines of Su-27 family development in later years). In total 517 Su-27S/P and 123 Su-27UB/UP were built till end of 1991 and the collapse of the Soviet Union. Further 56 of both versions were produced for the Russian AF from 1992 till 2011.

Standard colours of MiG-29A/UB in Warsaw Pact service

Although majority of MiG-29s in Warsaw Pact countries AFs service wore the standard greyish green / grey scheme, it was not the case in Czechoslovakia and East Germany. Czechoslovakia received 18 MiG-29A (product 9.12A) and 2 MiG-29UB (product 9.51) all in 4-colour camo scheme. After split of Czechoslovakia in 1992 MiG-29s were evenly divided between the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic. The Czech AF airframes were sold to Poland in 1995/96. East Germany received 20 MiG-29A and 4 MiG-29UB (only one twin-seater in 4-colour camo though) which were overtaken by West German Luftwaffe in 1990 and also sold to Poland in 2003/04.

WW2 Italian AFV paint set 16,95 €

The Royal Italian Army entered the WW2 with two basic painting schemes of AFVs overall Grey-Green (first in dark, later in light version) and overall Red-Brown (Rosso Ruggine or Terracota) used mostly on Ansaldo vehicles. Both were often covered with shapes of green or red-brown. Vehicles sent to Africa were first repainted to Saharian Khaki in field conditions and later (from March 1941) factory painted in that colour. In 1943 more advanced camo schemes were introduced disruptive shapes of Dark Grey-Green (or Dark Green for Ansaldo) and Red-Brown over Saharian Khaki base (from May 1943), followed by the new amoeba scheme of Red-Brown and Dark Sand-Yellow shapes over Dark Grey-Green (or Dark Green) base (final scheme, used from August 1943).

The Dutch air forces were officially established in 1913 under the name of Luchtvaartafdeling (LVA, the Aviation Department). In those early years majority of LVAs aircraft wore a simple green (LVA Khaki) over blue (LVA Blue) scheme, with trainers in overall LVA Blue. Underfunded in the interwar period, LVA started rebuilding process only in 1938. At the beginning of WW2 LVA operated appx. 120 combat aircraft, majority of them wearing a unique Dutch camo of Camouflage Green, Beige and Brown on upper surfaces over Camouflage Brown on lower surfaces (with the exception of some scout / training aircraft still wearing early colours).

In 1967 the Australian Army introduced it's own variant of Olive Drab as a base colour of all vehicles. It was widely used till late 1980s and introduction of the Dispersal Pattern Camouflage (DPC) more commonly known as AUSCAM (gradually applied over the 1990s). One of the exceptions was use of RAL6014 (original factory colour) on Leopard AS1 tanks since their delivery in 1976 till mid-1980s. Similarly their successors - M1A1 Abrams tanks - were delivered in original CARC Middle Stone and only later repainted to AUSCAM colours. Although the latter is an official scheme of the Australian Army, the Regional Force Surveillance Group operating in North and West of Australia is allowed to use Pibara Brown as an alternative base / camouflage colour

After collapse of the Soviet Union the Ukrainian AF inherited a great number of combat aircraft, including Su-27s, Mig-29s, Su-24s and Su-25s of different age and condition. Ever since, the Ukrainian AF has been downsizing and trying to upgrade its forces. Although most of the design bureaus specialized in combat planes stayed outside of Ukraine, it retained some very experienced repair plants, capable of modernizing the inherited inventory. Amongst the types that since 2010 have gradually re-entered service after some kind of modernization are MiG-29MU1, Su-25M1 (and two-seater Su-25UBM1), Su-24M, Su-24MR and L-39M1 trainers. Majority of the modernized airframes, but also some only overhauled (not modernized) ones, wear a distinctive grey pixel camouflage.

In early 1941 a new camouflage scheme of RLM 74+75/76 (with mottling in RLM 02, 70 or 74) was introduced onto Luftwaffe day fighters (the early scheme of RLM 70+71/65 remained in use on other aircraft types) and was widely used till gradual phase out in mid-1944. RLM 65 was officially kept as an additional colour (or maybe a substitute for RLM 76). Luftwaffe night aircraft initially wore a standard RLM 70+71/65 scheme, with temporary (and later permanent) black paint replacing RLM 65 on undersurfaces in 1940 and then becoming an overall colour in early 1941. In 1942 the RLM 74+75/76 scheme was introduced onto night aircraft, later simplified to a combination of RLM 75 mottling over RLM 76 base, on some aircraft again with black undersides.

With delivery of first BF-109s in early 1939 a German-origin scheme of RLM 70/71/65 (later optimized by Swiss AF towards RLM 70/65) was officially adopted and (while regarded efficient) it was subsequently copied to other types of Swiss AF aircraft, including D 3800s, D3801s and EKW C-3603s.

HTK-AS15 contains all of the above mentioned colours, providing for the comprehensive and reliable range of colours for modeling of Swiss Air Force aircraft from 1930s-40s. The set contains:

HTK-A017 - Dark Green (RLM71) - Used until late 1941 for upper surfaces in RLM 70/71/65 scheme of Swiss AF planes (incl. Bf-109E, D 3800 and D 3801 fighters)
HTK-A015 - Black-Green (RLM70) - Used for upper surfaces in RLM 70/71/65 and later (from late 1941) in RLM 70/65 schemes of Swiss AF planes
HTK-A029 - Light Blue (RLM65/78) - Used for lower surfaces in RLM 70/71/65 and 70/65 schemes of Swiss AF planes (incl. Bf-109, D 3800, D 3801 and EKW C 3603)
HTK-A078 Aluminium - Overall colour of Swiss AF bi-plane fighters (incl. Dewoitine D.27) and light bombers (incl. Fokker C.Ve) from 1930s till 1938
HTK-A117 - Braun - Used for upper surfaces in Muster 38 scheme of Swiss AF Fokker C.Ve, EKW C 35, EKW C 3601 and Dewoitine D.27 planes
