Both the USS Nevada (BB-36) and her sister ship USS Oklahoma were sunk at Pearl Harbor on 7 December 1941. Unlike the Oklahoma, which was scrapped, the Nevada was repaired, refitted and returned to service. The BB-36 provided excellent service during the invasion of France and also in the Pacific, supporting the amphibious landings on Iwo Jima and Okinawa. By the end of the war, the Nevada was obsolete, but survived the nuclear tests at Bikini Atoll during Operation Crossroads. She was finally scuttled as a training target in 1948. This expanded 176-page entry in the series "Legends of Warfare. Naval" series contains 350 images. The photos, tables and accompanying text show the ship during construction and during her service in both world wars.

The ship survived the war and escaped scrapping. It is currently on display at the Battleship Cove in Fall River, Massachusetts.

The book deals with the insignia used by soldiers of the Russian and Soviet Navy in the second half of the 19th to the end of the 20th century. It contains descriptions of insignia of educational institutions, various specialised schools and courses, qualification insignia, decorations, commemorative insignia and some stamps. Archival documents, normative acts, original weapons kept in state museums and private collections served as material for the book. Each badge is accompanied by a chronological overview, a brief description and a list of the most important variants. Historical drawings, sketches and photographic documents as well as photos of breast badges and the soldiers decorated with them from museum and private collections were used as illustrations for the book. Most of the illustrations are being published for the first time.
