The Battle of Auerstedt on 14 October 1806 is one of the fateful events in German and European history. Together with the Battle of Jena, which took place at the same time, it is deeply engraved in the memories of the people of this region.

Some 200 years after the battle, this production is an attempt to portray this historic event from the perspective of the rural population of Auerstedt. To this end, traditional scenes from 1806 have been re-enacted, in some cases at original locations. With the help of play scenes, animated maps, historical illustrations and texts, this film tells the story of the Battle of Auerstedt from the perspective of the people of Auerstedt.

Direction, camera, script and production: Mario Koch - Videoauftrag Bad Sulza in collaboration with the Auerstedt local history association and the amateur theatre company Amateurtheater Apolda.
