Raiders and traders, their highly developed seafaring skills allowed them to navigate all the seas and main rivers of Western Europe, greatly influencing the destiny of several nations like Great Britain or France in what became known as The Viking Era.

In the year 795, a Viking raid, probably from Norway, attacked Irish lands for the first time at the island of Lambay.

The news of the raid were received with consternation throughout all Western Christendom. The Viking era had started

Our bust portrays a Viking Raider during the raid, charging fiercely towards the enemy!

Note: This is a resin miniature kit that requires assembly and painting.

They played an important role in the American Revolutionary War as light and mobile infantry units that could be deployed on a minutes notice (hence the name) and were quite useful as a response force against any threat to the colonies.

These militiamen received no uniform or standardised equipment and used to fight dressed in a wide array of civilian clothing, hunting frocks or farmer dress. Sometimes they used muskets or hunting rifles, depending on the availability of supplies in the colony.

In the Revolutionary War, the Minutemen used to be among the first troops to appear on the battlefield, and they were even the main actors in the first two combats of the war; the battles of Lexington and Concord, which were fought on April 19th, 1775. The Minutemen managed to fight off the British troops and only quit fighting when a larger contingent arrived and started to siege the surrounding area. Ralph Waldo Emerson, in his Concord Hymn, described the first shot fired by these American patriots as the shot heard around the world.

Our bust depicts one of these men in a proud pose, dressed in civilian garments and a few accoutrements that could be used either to hunt or fight in a battle. The hat is an optional piece.

Note: This is a resin miniature kit that requires assembly and painting.

The event sent shockwaves through Christendom and is recorded in many contemporary chronicles that offer a really dark testimony:

Never before has such terror appeared in Britain as we have now suffered from a pagan race The heathens poured out the blood of saints around the altar, and trampled on the bodies of saints in the temple of God, like dung in the streets. wrote Alcuin of York about the event. He was a scholar in the court of Emperor Charlemagne

Our miniature portrays a Viking chief after the raid, getting ready to inspect some loot.

Note: This is a resin miniature kit that requires assembly and painting.

His teachings inspired a huge movement in the XV century Bohemia, the Hussites, which initially had a religious nature but evolved into a full-fledged political faction.

The two main events that marked that evolution were the execution of Jan Hus in 1415, accused of heresy, and the death of the Catholic King Wenceslaus IV of Bohemia a few years later in 1419. There was already unrest among the Hussites when Wenceslas successor, his brother Sigismund of Luxembourg, received permission from the Pope to launch a crusade against them.

The Hussites were mainly an army composed of militia, and many of them were equipped with farming tools, but they made a really imaginative use of their scarce resources to fight against the Bohemian troops. In the early engagements of the battles of the Hussite Wars, they developed their famous defensive technique for fighting in wagons, combining that protection with the power of the earlier firearms that were gradually appearing on the European battlefields of the era. In the Battle of Sudom??, they managed to repulse a decisive surprise assault by the enemys heavy cavalry using that technique.

Our miniature represents one of the many Central European mercenaries that fought during that troubled period, and can be painted to represent a member of any of the factions of the conflict.

These warlike people raided the Gaulish lands incessantly, causing vast disruption. In 16 BC, they even defeated a Roman army under the command of Marco Lolio, capturing the eagle of Legio V.

All these incidents caused a reaction by the Romans. The legions crossed the Rhine and reached the Elbe River, fighting the tribes they found at their pace in some of the bloodiest combats they had carried out until that moment.

On 9 AD, the Roman governor of Germania, Publius Quintilius Varo, decided it was about time to subdue the Germanic tribes and crossed the Rhine with several legions, establishing their camps on the territory of an allied tribe, the Cherusci. News of a local revolt arrived, and Varo decided to move there with three legio8ns. What he didnt know was that Arminius, the Cherusci leader, had made a secret alliance with the other Germanic tribes of the area. The Roman Army was ambushed, taking advantage of the difficult forest terrain that made their tactics and formations useless. Around 20.000 people were slaughtered in what history came to know as the Battle of Teutoburg Forest.

Our figure depicts one of those fierce tribal warriors, armed with lance, sword and shield, possibly waiting along with the rest of the Germanic force in the forest for the right moment to attack the Roman columns.

Note: This is a resin miniature kit that requires assembly and painting.

The death of the childless King Edward the Confessor put Harold Godwinson, the new Anglo-Saxon king, on the throne, but started a struggle among some claimants to the English throne, among them Harald Hardrada, King of Norway, and William, Duke of Normandy. So, their armies set sail to fight for their leaders rights to be the next King of England.

The King of Norway was killed at the Battle of Stamford Bridge, so the destiny of the realm would be decided in a fierce, crucial battle between the Saxons and the Normans at Hastings. At the end of the day, Duke William, soon to be known as the Conqueror, was victorious, and a new era started for England.

The Normans were descendants of Viking raiders who settled in the area of Normandy, France. They were fierce warriors, and their army was a mixed ensemble of infantrymen, archers and cavalry.

Our bust depicts a Norman elite warrior, carrying the Papal flag that Pope Alexander II gave Duke William as a token of endorsement for his conquest project.

There are two ways to make this trip, asleep or dead. The words that the fat customs officer repeated with a tired ring to the people queuing to get onboard the ark ship were meant as a dark joke and a reminder of the grim possibilities that awaited anyone foolish enough to make a mistake around the premises.

The more evident became the reality that Earth was dying, the more serious they got about the Colonisation Pathways that would bring humanity to the stars. Resources were allocated, ships were built, and technical issues were overcome. One of the most difficult challenges was the huge supervision and maintenance requirements that the ships would have during the long trip. Most of the physical work could be easily done by robots, but the overseeing required human capacity, especially after the Great AI Flop of the mid-XXI century, and the trips could span a few hundred years in some cases.

It was easy to put a few thousand settlers or crew in stasis for a few centuries, but it was impossible to wake them up at demand to respond to the ships requirements. It was then that they came up with the necroservers.

Through a series of surgical procedures and implants, they managed to bring individuals to a point of near-death that converted them into mere computers, devoid of personality but with slight traces of conscience that allowed them to perform some basic routine decision-making.

They started using the victims of terrible accidents, people who were not meant to be still alive anyway. But, as the moral boundaries relaxed and the situation on the planet worsened, the need for this new asset surged, and they had to get creative. The Extinction Dilemma, as the news outlets called it, had generated a huge worldwide inmate population, due to protests, scarcity and skyrocketing crime. Nobody would miss these people, and they would redeem their crimes by serving a higher purpose.

It took Rashid more than two hours to pass through all the security controls and finally board the U.S.S. Kim Kardashian, a huge ship that dwarfed the spaceport in which it was docked. These ships, named after great personalities of a distant past, were an overwhelming presence that could be seen from miles away and setting foot inside one of them finally, was some sort of defining moment. All his life would be left behind, on the other side of the gigantic hydraulic blast doors of the ships main entrance.

Move on to your assigned collection points and wait for the accommodation personnel, said one of the ships reception officers before leaning over a reddish dim-lit screen that was being operated by another crewman. Rashid took a second glance, and then he saw it. The second crewman had no arms or legs. It was just a human silhouette hooked up to the ships consoles by multiple connectors. The red glow of the screen projected an eerie aura over the mummified skin of his head, with changing shapes dancing over the milky eyes as the sequence of commands iterated orderly on the screen.

Humanitys salvation required paying a high price. But some people would always pay even a bit more.

This boxed set contains both busts of William the Conqueror, and the Norman standard bearer.

It was a clash between the desires of Prussian-led unification of Germany on one side, and the fears of France about the consequences of the emergence of a new powerful expansionist empire right at its doorsteps.

The German forces obtained a decisive victory over the French, as they had better training and leadership. Also, their equipment was more modern and they made better use in warfare of three relatively new assets available: railroads, telegraph and modern artillery.

As the German Army was composed of troops from the different states of the Confederation, there was a wide variety of uniforms and insignia.

Our figure, a classic Elite Miniaturas reference sculpted by Stefano Cannone, portrays a drummer from a Bavarian line infantry regiment, dressed in the particular cornflower blue uniform of the troops of this German State.

Almost from the beginning, the Confederacy had serious trouble equipping its soldiers properly and coherently, and they tried to compensate for their lack of equipment and supplies with great tenacity and courage.

On the other hand, officers were a different story. Normally, their uniforms were privately purchased and tailored, so following the regulations was a bit easier.

This officer carries a regulation kepi and greatcoat over his uniform, along with riding boots and other elements, like the binoculars case and sabre, that were typical of his rank.

After the fall of Acre in 1291, the Kingdom of Jerusalem relocated to Cyprus, and Pope Clement V awarded the Templars the formal ownership of this island, trying to maintain at least a small foothold in the area.

The island had a small port and a castle, and its garrison consisted of a bit more than a hundred knights with an additional detachment of archers and servants, under the command of Maréchal Barthélemy de Quincy.

Since the siege of Acre, the Mamluks had started to take control of Syria, and they were not going to leave the strategic enclave in the hands of the Crusaders. They landed on the island with a highly superior force and laid siege to the fortification. After a lengthy fight, the Templars surrendered in exchange for a promise of safe passage, which was ultimately broken by the Mamluks. The bowmen and servants were executed, and the knights were sent to Cairo as captives.

Our figure depicts a member of a militant order on the eve of the XIV century, and can be used to portray any similar subject of choice.

We are talking about Dr Abraham Van Helsing, who set the tone for the misunderstood and somewhat crazy erudite who has embarked on a lifelong battle against the forces of darkness.

Even some of the most obscure characters have left an impression, like the three mysterious vampire brides that dwell in the darker crypts of the castle, voluptuous and dangerous, whose origin never gets explained in the novel and find their demise at the hands of our favourite vampire killer.

In this vignette, we want to portray that particular moment, with Van Helsing exploring the darkest corners of Draculas castle, trying to purge the evil of these creatures of the night from this world.
