"The Saga of the Dwarves" is a new concept series which, like "Elves", consists of self-contained individual volumes in which different fates and aspects of different peoples are told, which taken together nevertheless make up a single, large panorama - in this case: of dwarfism.

The second part of the Saga of the Dwarves sheds light on the darker side of the merchant guild Talion. The protagonist Ordo, like Redwin in the first volume, tells his life story in retrospective. And just as Redwin did not quite want to fit into the Order of the Blacksmiths, Ordo, too, inwardly rejects Talion and the task assigned to him. Although he should be a merciless instrument of death, he shows doubts by, for example, sparing children. His life is marked by hatred for the men who took him from his parents' home when he was six years old. His dark thoughts accompany the reader throughout the entire volume. Author Nicolas Jarry uses a specially created colloquial language of the dwarves. A whole series of terms and expressions are explained in a glossary in the appendix. They connect the second volume with the first, the dwarves of Talion with those of the Forge, and create the coherent impression of a common culture.

The "Royal Blood" series is dedicated to such rulers who, often controversial, at least left lasting traces in history. Arnaud Delalande ("Surcouf") and Simona Mogavino have embedded the eventful fate of Alienor of Aquitaine in an opulent medieval picture of manners, including knightly spectacle and courtly intrigue, which Carlos Gomez lavishly illustrates accordingly. But the focus is clearly and unmistakably on the portrait of a strong woman - despite all the "black legends".

Four more by alternating teams of authors will follow.

Ulrog should have been master of the Order of the Forge. Perhaps even the greatest of them all.
