Such vehicles were used in the Wehrmacht, Luftwaffe and Waffen-SS, where they served as personnel carriers, tractors, combat engineering vehicles, as well as self-propelled carriage of anti-aircraft and anti-tank guns. One of them was the Sd.Kfz. 6 (Sonderkraftfahrzeug 6) Mittlerer Zugkraftwagen 5 t (middle half-track vehicle 5 tons). It was designed to be used as the main towing vehicle for the 10.5 cm le.FH 18 howitzer. Sd.Kfz. and was manufactured mainly by Bussing-NAG, with about 3,800 units being produced. The book presents a collection of photographs of different versions of the tractor from the private archives of German soldiers. The photographs depict vehicles serving on all fronts and in a wide variety of roles. This profusely illustrated photo album includes a large number of previously unseen pictures, many from private sources in Germany. Whatever the rules might have said, German soldiers took many photos, and these are the basis for this book. Photos of the all the main production versions are shown, including self-propelled anti-aircraft guns, artillery tractors and pioneer vehicles. Book contains about 120 period photos.

Despite the several hundred thousand motor vehicles used by German forces in World War Two, the German armed forces were still extremely reliant upon the horse. Horse-drawn transportation was especially important for Germany, as it was lacking in its own natural oil resources. Both the German infantry and artillery relied heavily upon horse drawn elements, especially in their supply chain and logistics. Each German unit employed thousands of horses and thousands of men taking care of them. During the war, many custom-built horse drawn wagons as well as captured units were included in the general transportation of the Wehrmacht.

The Sd.Kfz. 10 was developed as a towing vehicle for light loads like the 37mm Pak 36/37, the 2cm Flak 30/38, and the Heavy Infantry howitzer Sigg 33 plus a myriad of trailers types such as the Sd. Anh. 32. Later, it was used as a towing vehicle for the 5cm Pak 38 and different Nebelwerfer (rocket launchers). As the war progressed and the German army had less and less equipment to utilize, the Sd.Kfz 10 was often to be seen towing loads way beyond its designed weight class for the lack of other suitable vehicles. These profusely illustrated photo albums include many previously unseen pictures, many from private sources in Germany. Whatever the rules might have said, German soldiers took many photos, and these are the basis for our new series.

As the war progressed and the German Wehrmacht increasingly lacked adequate vehicles, this tractor was also used to transport and pull loads that far exceeded the original operational weight. This extensively illustrated work shows a large number of previously unpublished photos of the Sd.Kfz. 10, most of which come from private photo collections of German soldiers.

Kfz 7 and its various sub-types, the photos mostly unpublished before now, are all from German sources, with the majority being private photos taken by ordinary German soldiers not professional propagandists. In this volume we endeavour to show the vehicle in even more depth and cover the sub-types in more detail than only one volume allowed, however still show the vehicle as the soldier viewed it as his work place and often also his home, not the highly posed and polished views of the official photographers.Book includes special versions like:Selbstfahrlafette (Sd. Kfz. 7/1) auf Fahrgestell des m. Zgkw. 8t mit 2 cm FlakvierlingSelbstfahrlafette (Sd. Kfz. 7/2) auf Fahrgestell des m. Zgkw. 8t mit 3,7 cm Flak 36mittlerer Zugkraftwagen 8t (Sd. Kfz. 7) mit Holzpritschemittlerer Zugkraftwagen 8t (Sd. Kfz. 7) mit gepanzertem AufbauThis book is an invaluable reference for military historians and modellers alike. With this second part on the Sd.Kfz. 7, the author endeavours to show the vehicle and its variants in even more detail than would have been possible in just one volume. The author shows the vehicle as the soldier saw and used it in action, namely as his "workplace" and often also as his "home". The book features special variants such as: Self-propelled mount (Sd. Kfz. 7/1) on the chassis of the 8-ton medium half-track with 2 cm Flakvierling; self-propelled mount (Sd. Kfz. 7/2) on the chassis of the 8-ton medium half-track with 3.7 cm Flak 36; 8-ton medium half-track (Sd. Kfz. 7) with wooden cargo bed; and 8-ton medium half-track (Sd. Kfz. 7) with armored superstructure. This book is an invaluable reference for vehicle enthusiasts and modellers.

It is estimated that nearly as many vehicles that were destroyed by enemy action were also lost to muddy conditions, this book contains more than 140 photos of German equipment endeavouring to make its way through mud sometimes with success and sometimes only with help. The Author showe many of the recovery vehicles in operation and the harsh conditions they had to work in. This volume illustrates this battle as the soldiers viewed it as both their work environment and indeed where they had to live, not the highly polished and sanitized views of the official photographers.

The majority of the photos have not yet been published and all come from German sources, although most of them are private photos taken by ordinary German soldiers and not by members of the propaganda companies.
Germany was at the forefront of the development of armoured cars during the First World War, however with the end of the war in November of 1918 and the signing of the Treaty of Versailles in 1919 the victorious allies imposed a complete ban on the German army being equipped with any armoured vehicles including armoured cars. In the early 1920's the "Zusatz von Bologne" which was an amendum to the Treaty of Versailles, allowed the German Army to produce armoured cars primarily for policing duties and eventually this gave rise to the Sd.Kfz. 13 series in the early 1930's, however with the Nazi party takeover of Germany in 1933 new 4-wheeled armour cars were ordered and they were all to be based on the Horch off road heavy passenger chassis, they were numbered Sd.Kfz. 221, 222 and 223 the same chassis was also developed in to the Sd.Kfz. 260 and 261 radio command vehicles. This publication covers the German 4 wheeled cars in great photographical detail focusing on the armoured cars and their crews as they dealt with the conditions and circumstances they found themselves in, photographs from the author's own collection have been used to illustrate this book that were taken by the average German soldier not official army cameramen who's photos are well known and have been published over and over again already.

After the National Socialists came to power in 1933, further four-wheeled armoured cars were ordered, all of which were based on the chassis of a heavy all-terrain passenger car from Horch and were used by the Wehrmacht under the designations Sd.Kfz. 221, 222 and 223. The same chassis was also used in the development of the radio command vehicles Sd.Kfz. 260 and 261. In this publication, the German four-wheeled vehicles are covered photographically in detail, with the emphasis on the armoured vehicles and their crews. To illustrate this book, the author mainly uses photos taken by the German soldiers themselves, rather than the often well-known photographs taken by the Wehrmacht's official photojournalists.
