Unlike the other cavalry regiments, they did not fight on horseback on the battlefield. Instead, they rode to their position to dismount and fight as infantry. In a war of high mobility, this type of troop had obvious advantages.

Our bust portrays a trooper of the 2nd Regiment, just dismounted and armed with an infantry musket.

The initial part of the conflict is what the historians call the "First English Civil War", that ended in 1646.

The disagreement between King Charles I and sectors of the Parliament that demanded changes and concessions in exchange for support to his war against the Scots, plus several other religious and legal concerns, led to an open conflict that ended with the defeat of the Royalists shortly after the Battle of Naseby in 1645. But that didnt solve the issue, and eventually, they would lead to the Second English Civil War and the execution of the king himself by the Parliamentarians.

The Royalist side relied on local contingents raised by the nobility that were loyal to the king, along with units that directly depended on him. Our bust depicts an officer from one of these foot regiments, dressed in the style of the era.

One of the most significant units of this army was the Ironside Cavalrymen, armed with breastplates and their signature lobster pot helmets.

The earliest narrative ballads featuring him date from the second half of the XV century, with some earlier indirect mentions in other texts as early as the late XIII century, according to some experts.

The story of the heroic outlaw that steals from the rich and gives to the poor has always been universally popular as it symbolizes the struggle against tyranny and how even the humblest members of society may induce social change and justice.

Another characteristic of the stories of Robin Hood is that they are filled with really charismatic characters, from Lady Marian to Little John, and we have wanted to portray one of them for a very long time: Friar Tuck.

This character, which joins Robin Hoods band after a duel of wits, is a jolly and fun counterbalance to the Merry Men, involved in the fight against tyranny, but more interested in beer and laughs than in fighting.

After sacking Rome in 410, commanded by King Alaric, they settled in Southern Gaul as Foederati of the empire in 418. From there, they expanded their authority to Hispania, where they created their most important kingdom, which would last until the early VIII century.

Followers of the Arrianism doctrine, adopted very soon many customs from the Romans, becoming the most successful kingdom after the collapse of the Western Empire. Due to that, they would play a decisive role in one of the most dangerous crises of the V century, the invasion of Attila and the Huns.

After raiding the Eastern Empire but being unable to conquer Constantinople, Attila commanded his army through Northern Italy intending to conquer the Gaul. They were stopped in 451 AD by a coalition formed by Romans, Visigoths, Franks, and some other tribes and kingdoms, in the Battle of the Catalaunian Plains.

Our bust portrays a Visigothic nobleman getting ready for that fateful day that would decide the future of Western Europe.

Note: This is a resin miniature kit that requires assembly and painting.

Their distinctive dress and useful role as light reconnaissance cavalry made them enormously popular across Europe and virtually all countries created hussar-type units and regiments in their armies.

The Napoleonic Wars are regarded as a "golden era" for these units, which not only played a key role on the battlefields but also achieved a fantastic degree of splendor in their uniforms.

The French 1st Empire was not an exception, and their Hussar regiments participated in all major campaigns and battles, being regarded as some of the most dashing and audacious troops of the army.

The 5th Regiment of Hussars was created just before the French Revolution and they already distinguished themselves in the American Revolutionary War, as part of the Lauzun Legion. They participated in many major engagements of the Napoleonic Wars, including Austerlitz, Jena, Eylau, Wagram, the Russian campaign of La Grande Armée, and Waterloo.

For our bust, we wanted to show how flamboyant and beautiful could be the uniforms for the high-ranked officers of a Hussar regiment.

The author, Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer, is one of the most prominent poets and writers of the Spanish Post-romanticism and made an extensive compiling work of old tales and legends from Castille and Aragon regions.

This story is a classic gothic horror tale, which starts with a young couple on a hunting party. Alonso explains his cousin Beatriz that a distant ruined chapel they see in mount used to belong to the Templar knights, that came to the area during the "Reconquista". Their rivalry with the local nobility ended in bloodshed and the area is considered haunted since that day.

Later on, Beatriz realises that, while on the mount, she lost a badge that Alonso gave to her as a token of affection. Her cousin decides not to wait untill dawn and goes back to retrieve the badge in the middle of the night...

Their origins are somewhat obscure but it is assumed they had influences from both the eastern Celts and the Scythians.

The Dacian kingdoms started gaining relevance during the first century before Christ, and that led to an inevitable collision course with the Romans, that intensified gradually until reaching the reign of Decebalus at the end of the I century.

Early campaigns by Domitian resulted in disaster and defeat, as Decebalus managed to rally the huge Dacian population and resisted the Romans, but Trajan had much more success. It took him two major campaigns (known as the Dacian Wars), spanning from 101 to 102 AD, and 105 to 106 AD, but he managed to defeat them decisively. The events of that conquest were immortalized in the Trajan Column, which still stands as a witness in central Rome.

Our bust represents a defiant Dacian Chieftain, equipped with the characteristic arms and armor of the period.

Inspired by the gothic horror literary tradition and in extensive research on European folklore and vampire stories, this work set the foundations of the modern image of such creatures.

The Count himself is one of the most portrayed fictional characters in art history. It is pointless to describe this universal character, as it is so rich and can be analyzed from so many perspectives, that it has allowed hugely different approaches, not even counting the many other vampire characters that he has inspired

From the noble and elegant count played by Bela Lugosi to the unsettling and silent Nosferatu from Murnau, from the kitsch blaxploitation portrayed in "Blacula" to the animated and fun-for-all-family character in "Hotel Transylvania", countless artists have tried to pay homage to this immortal creature.

This character is very special to us, so our rendition has taken quite a long time to come true. We wanted to create a portrait that was easily recognizable while avoiding the main associated cliches, and inspiration doesnt always come quickly. We decided to go back to the basics of the character. Deceptively fragile, but evil-looking. Inviting and seductive, but somehow repulsive. Apparently normal, but with a strong and unsettling fire in his eyes...

We hope you like him.

The troopers of this regiment wore French Zoauves style uniforms in dark blue and red.

They took part in many important battles, like the Second Battle of Bull Run, Antietam, Fredericksburg or Chancellorsville. In the Battle of Gaines Mill, they played a key role in stopping the attack from the South Carolina Brigade. During all their service record, the regiment fought and behaved with distinction, and General McClellan said of them "The Fifth is the best disciplined and soldierly Regiment of the Army."

Our bust portrays a corporal of this regiment in campaign, with all the elements and equipment characteristic of this unit.

Note: This is a resin miniature kit that requires assembly and painting.

From reconnaissance missions, to executing raids behind the enemy lines, these fast units were instrumental in the war effort for both sides.

During the first half of the conflict, the Confederates enjoyed superiority in cavalry, not least because many capable cavalry commanders joined their cause. Names like J. E. B. Stuart or Nathan Bedford Forrest are still a significant part of the military legacy of those days.

Our bust portrays a veteran Confederate Cavalry officer, waiting patiently for the right moment to start charging towards the enemy. He knows that the fate of the battle well might rest on his mens shoulders and swords.

Note: This is a resin miniature kit that requires assembly and painting.

Infantrymen were easier and cheaper to train, as cavalry and artillery units required additional technologies, supplies, and logistics. Instead, any group of able-bodied men was relatively easy to equip and train in the use of muskets and made to operate as a cohesive infantry formation in a relatively short amount of time.

During the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic periods, France had plenty of enemies just beside its frontiers, essentially all the Ancient Regime monarchies that were shocked by the turn of events and the political evolution of the country. So, keeping in mind that countries such as Prussia, Austria, or Russia had huge land forces, France ended up having the largest number of infantry units of any army of the period.

Our bust portrays a Grenadier from a line regiment, wearing the 1806 regulation uniform.

The day dawned peacefully, but there was an uneasy mood in the city. Pretty soon, groups of citizens started gathering at the Royal Palace, wary of the intentions of the French troops. Someone cried out loud "They are taking him away!", and that was the start of it...

The Treaty of Fontainebleau, signed in 1807, allowed the entry of the French Napoleonic Army into Spain, on its way to invade Portugal, which was a staunch ally of Great Britain. King Carlos IV had been forced to abdicate on his son, the infamous Fernando VII, and both had been recalled to France to force them to cede the Spanish crown to Napoleons brother, Joseph Bonaparte. In the meantime, Joachim Murat got orders to bring the remaining children of the king to France.

Fearing that the kids would be held as hostages, and fearing in particular for the small prince Francisco de Paula, the people of Madrid revolted violently against the French Army in a spectacular episode that ignited the war in Spain and is commonly referred as "El Dos de Mayo".

The French soldiers got confronted and assaulted by a mostly unarmed multitude of civilians, including many women, representing an ample array of classes and conditions, all united against the invaders.

Those were also the days of the "majas", women that opposed the principles imposed by the dominant class and that have been described as "bold, friendly, honest, foul-mouthed and rogue". Many of them were present at the revolt and some of them even died that day, fighting for their beliefs.

They had problems with the Federal Government during the American Civil War and Indian Wars era, due to the government policy of containment and land usurpation. They were forced to go to reservations and accept a program of "civilization" aimed to integrate them into the European American culture.

Our bust portrays one member of this people during the early 20s, the traditional features of his culture, mixed with modern elements, created a really interesting visual contrast.

The French Army was greatly composed of hardened veteran troops and, if it managed to face its enemies one by one, the emperor was confident to even the odds and achieve victory over the Coalition forces.

The diverse engagements and maneuvering of the opposing armies culminated near the small village of Waterloo, in Belgium. The Anglo-Dutch forces had assembled a front opposed to the French deployment, trying to hold their ground until the arrival of the Prussian Army. Between both armies there were some scattered small farms that were promptly occupied by the British, to hinder the advancement of the French, and to force them to invest time, effort, and troops to try to capture them.

In one of these farms, Hougoumont, The British garrisoned forces from a few regiments, among them the Coldstream Guards and, since the opening moments of the battle, the French started to send wave after wave of attacks in order to capture the position. In one of the best-known skirmishes of the battle, some thirty French soldiers, commanded by Sous-Lieutenant Legros, managed to break into the farm through the north gate, leading to a desperate, no-quarter, hand-to-hand fight between them and the defending guards. None of the French survived, except for the young drummer boy, spared by the British in the last minute.

Our bust depicts a brave officer from the Coldstream Guards, getting ready to fend off another assault of the French.

Note: This is a resin miniature kit that requires assembly and painting.

Everybody knows who is Alice, the Hatter, the Queen of Hearts, the White Rabbit, or the Cheshire cat. Also, the particular looks of these characters are instantly recognizable, even if they have evolved in multiple portrayals over the years.

Is this idea what made us design this series of busts, inspired by our interpretation of the possible look of these characters in the real world, and always in touch with Pepas particular sensibility towards female characters.

Check this new bust from the series, the White Bunny!

In 1415, the English forces led by Henry V met in combat a far superior French army at the small village of Agincourt, near the Pass of Calais.

This battle is often seen as an example of victory against all odds. Due to the forces deployment, the condition of the terrain, and the effectiveness of the English longbow, the main French contingent of armored knights and man-at-arms suffered a devastating defeat at the hands of the English archers, both in the first cavalry charge and the second one on foot, where they got stuck in the mud, weighed down by their plate armor.

Our bust portrays one of those French knights, moments before the battle when they were confident about their sure victory against the weary and numerically inferior English army.
