Description
So-called MASSTER camouflage, a predecessor of MERDC scheme, was developed in early 1970s within Modern Army Selected Systems Test, Evaluation and Review project (hence its commonly used name). It was widely tested by units of United States Army Europe (USAREUR) based in West Germany. The scheme was used through late 1980s (and in some cases well into the 2000s).
The Dual Texture Gradient Patter or DUALTEX camouflage was another experimental scheme, tested between 1978 and 1985 on vehicles of 2nd (US) Armoured Cavalry Regiment deployed along inner German border. The scheme itself followed standard MERDC Winter Verdant colours, but used them in form of square shapes in this way it was predecessor of modern digital / pixel schemes.
Contains the following colours (acrylic paints, water-based):
HTK-A315 Forest Green FS34127, used for disruptive shapes in experimental MASSTER camouflage scheme of USAREUR vehicles in 1970s/80s
HTK-A213 Earth Red FS30117, used for disruptive shapes in experimental MASSTER camouflage scheme of USAREUR vehicles in 1970s/80s
HTK-A323 Sand Grey FS30372, used for disruptive shapes in experimental MASSTER camouflage scheme of USAREUR vehicles in 1970s/80s
HTK-A041 Night Black FS37038, used for disruptive shapes in both MASSTER and DUALTEX experimental camouflage schemes of USAREUR
HTK-A210 Sand Brown FS30277, used for disruptive shapes in experimental DUALTEX camouflage scheme of USAREUR vehicles in 1970s/80s
HTK-A016 Dark Green FS34079, used for disruptive shapes in experimental DUALTEX camouflage scheme of USAREUR vehicles in 1970s/80s
HTK-A209 Field Drab FS30118, used for disruptive shapes in experimental DUALTEX camouflage scheme of USAREUR vehicles in 1970s/80s
HTK-A239 Seafoam Green FS24533, standard colour of interiors of US modern APCs and IFVs (including of vehicles of USAREUR in 1970s/80s)
