Qatar Amiri Flight flies on demand for government officials and the Qatari royal family. Its fleet comprises ten aircraft, including smaller aircraft such as a Gulfstream and an Airbus A319, but also much larger aircraft such as the Boeing 747-8 and the ultra long-range variant of Airbus' successful A340 family, the A340-500. The A340-500 proved to be the version with the lowest demand, with only 34 of the 380 aircraft produced of all A340 variants. Today, no airline operates the A340-500 commercially, but it remains popular for government use due to its performance.
