Description
28 August 1749 (Frankfurt am Main) to 22 March 1832 (Weimar), is the best-known representative of Weimar Classicism as a poet, theatre director, natural scientist, art theorist and statesman. His works include poems, dramas and prose literature, as well as scientific treatises. He is regarded as the most important German poet and an outstanding personality in world literature. He was ennobled in 1782. Well engraved large figure.
