The Battle of Agincourt (French Azincourt) ended with a significant victory for England against France in the Hundred Years War. The battle took place on 25 October 1415 near present-day Agincourt in northern France. With Henry V's victory against numerically superior French forces under Charles VI, a new era in the war began, with Henry V marrying the French king's daughter Catherine of Valois, thus securing a claim to the French throne, and Henry V's son Henry VI later becoming heir to the throne.
