The Atlantic Wall stretched from the North Cape along the coasts of Holland, Belgium, France and Italy to Greece in very different levels of construction. In the first part of the book, the author deals with the area between Dunkirk and Cherbourg, as this was so far advanced in its expansion that it still hints at its former size today. The second part begins in Cherbourg and continues via the Channel Islands of Jersey, Guernsey and Alderney to Brest. In the third part, the journey continues from Brest to Biarritz. It leads along the coasts of the Atlantic with the submarine bases, their main defences and battery positions. A guide that tries to contribute to the understanding of the events of that time.
