Frontline generals are included as well as those who served in the military bureaucracy. The reader is given information about the various commands each general held, where they served, what operations they took part in and what war crimes they may have been guilty of. In addition, there are personal data, expressed opinions and assessments as well as details on the service sword wielded, as far as information on this is available. In addition to the biographical section, there are lists of the Japanese command structure at the time of the Japanese surrender in August/September 1945, as well as lists of the commanders of the army groups, armies, divisions, and independent brigades at that time.
