This is the story of David Charles Mad Dog Dolby and a fierce firefight in Vietnam in 1966, for which he was awarded the Medal of Honour. Despite this extraordinary achievement, Dolby returned to Vietnam for four more tours of duty. In 1967, he was assigned to the 1st Brigade of the 101st Airborne Division, the famous Screaming Eagles. On his third tour of duty in 1969, he joined C Company (Rangers) of the 75th Infantry (Airborne) of the First Field Force Vietnam. During his last two tours of duty in 1970 and 1971, Dolby served as an advisor to the Vietnamese Rangers and eventually to the soldiers of the Royal Cambodian Army.
