Volume 2 of the five-title Archive and Colour Photographs of WWI series, which documents each individual year of WW1 with its own comprehensively illustrated volume. Thousands and thousands of photos were taken by photographers on all sides of the front. The pictures appeared in journals, magazines and newspapers of the time. Some photos made their way into the archives in the post-war period and reappear today in current publications or as footage in television documentaries. This publication shows the reader photos that were rarely or never seen in public before. The volume looks first and foremost at the Gallipoli campaign of 1915, the fighting on the Western Front in this second year of the war. With more than 1,000 photographs, this is a unique reference work on the war year 1915 that will appeal to historically interested readers and collectors alike.
