Volume 2 of the five-title Archive and Colour Photographs of WWI series, which documents each individual year of WW1 with its own comprehensively illustrated volume. Thousands and thousands of photos were taken by photographers on all sides of the front. The pictures appeared in journals, magazines and newspapers of the time. Some photos made their way into the archives in the post-war period and reappear today in current publications or as footage in television documentaries.
