The third part of the monograph on the Curtiss P-40 discusses the development and construction of the F, L, K, M, N and XP-40Q variants. Each variant is specified and comprehensively described with coverage of changes made in its sub-variants. A large chapter is devoted to the Warhawks combat service in the Mediterranean Theatre of Operations. The book contains many lists of the U.S. and foreign units equipped with various P-40 variants, most succesful pilots and technical data of the key P-40 variants and engines.
