The Agusta-Bell AB-205 is a multi-purpose helicopter built under licence by Agusta in Italy and derived from the famous Bell UH-1 Iroquois, better known as the ?Huey?. It entered service in the 1960s and, thanks to its simple design and reliable construction, demonstrated exceptional versatility and durability. With a range of over 500 km and a top speed of more than 200 km/h, the AB-205 was developed to transport troops rapidly to hard-to-reach areas. However, thanks to its flexibility, it can be deployed in numerous military and civilian roles: from transporting supplies and disaster relief to medical evacuations and search and rescue operations. The helicopter played a particularly important role in the aviation units of the Arma dei Carabinieri.
