A volume from the series "Kleine bayerische Biografien". The last three princes of the partial duchy of Bavaria-Landshut, already called the "Rich Dukes" during their lifetime, rivalled royal and imperial courts - not only in terms of the splendour of their court. They also built, especially in competition with Habsburg, on a Wittelsbach supremacy in southern Germany and in the entire empire.
A policy that, however, came to an end with the catastrophe of the Landshut War of Succession and the rise of Munich as the sole Bavarian capital. Gerald Huber's biography brings back to consciousness the unjustly forgotten economic, political and cultural achievements of the wealthy Landshut dukes and revives the glorious period of Lower Bavaria in the 15th century.
