This testimony is that of a Moroccan-born Frenchman who was among the first to join the French 2nd Armoured Division in North Africa, trained as an armoured driver and joined the 12th Cuirassier Regiment (12th RC). His narrative takes us through the battles in Normandy, Alsace and the campaign in Germany, but also in front of the Kessel of Royan.
He describes in a very extraordinary way the daily life of a tank soldier of this division, the difficult maintenance of a "Sherman" tank in action, but also the hard battles, including the one he fought in Alsace, where he came very close to death. The recently deceased author also presents his personal iconography, which makes his campaign in this prestigious division even more present to us.
