Josef äSeppô Dietrich (* 28 May 1892 in Hawangen; Ä 21 April 1966 in Ludwigsburg) was first commander of Adolf Hitler's bodyguard (Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler) and später SS-Oberst-Gruppenführer and Generaloberst der Waffen-SS. Dietrich was thus the highest-ranking officer in the Waffen-SS next to Paul Hausser. After the war, he was sentenced to prison as a co-responsible for the Malmedy Massacre and for his role in murders in connection with the so-called Röhm Putsch. - Wikipedia -
