About 1912. Height 8 cm. Flower woman is a popular term for a market woman who sell(ed) flowers at market places in Berlin. The addition Berlin original does not denote a real person, but embodies the Berlin character and means "to have hair on one's teeth and sometimes to be a bit rough". However, the term Blumenfrau has not remained limited to Berlin; in many other German cities, too, the florist is called Blumenfrau and is respected.
