The French campaign began on 10 May 1940 with the German army's invasion of the Netherlands. It ended five weeks later with the defeat of the French army. In the public perception, this defeat often mistakenly referred to as a total rout is attributed to outdated equipment that was supposedly inferior to that of the Germans. In reality, however, this was not the case, as the Wehrmacht lost half of its tanks and aircraft during those five weeks. Most of the records from this period come from the propaganda company and show mostly destroyed or abandoned French tanks. French combat vehicles are of great interest from both a model-making and historical perspective and offer countless possibilities for integration into small scenes or larger dioramas, as we will see in this publication. The collection of French tanks presented in this book, which is described in detail step by step, is exclusively dedicated to 1:35 scale vehicles from the Second World War.
