Description
Uniforms and Equipment 1936 - 1945.
"Paratroopers - Uniforms and Equipment 1936-1945" is aimed equally at collectors, uniform experts and readers interested in military history.
Published in three volumes, this work is a thorough study of the uniforms and equipment worn and used in the German paratroopers from their beginnings to the end of the Second World War. Furthermore, all insignia and documents related to the paratroopers are covered, as well as finally their missions - from the Belgian Sperrfort Eben-Emael to Crete, North Africa, Russia, Italy with Monte Cassino, Normandy and the Ardennes to the last days of the Nazi regime.
"Fallschirmjäger - Uniformen und Ausrüstung 1936-1945" represents the most comprehensive and detailed study to date of all aspects of the clothing and equipment of the paratroopers, presenting almost every piece of uniform they used - including all the issued samples of the "bone sack".
For this work there was an unprecedented collaboration of collectors and museums from all over the world with the author Karl Veltzé and Zeughaus Verlag.
The three volumes together comprise more than 1,000 pages with thousands of specially produced colour photographs of original collectors' objects, some of which have never been shown or described before. Accompanying the whole are contemporary photographs, many of them also previously unpublished.
